Cameron Kelly is a visual artist reconciling her participation in consumer culture with our current economic and ecological circumstances. Born and raised in northern California, Kelly highlights the irony between man and nature in her objects and interventions. Her carefully crafted, often awkward sculptures impose human comfort and style on artifacts from the natural world. The recipients of her meticulous labor remain indifferent objects, yielding no signs of protest or approval in response to her unsolicited care. Kelly was the inaugural artist in residence at the JB Blunk Residency, and has had exhibitions at Kunst Verein Rheinlan-Pfalz, Germany, CUNorte, Guadalajara, AC2, Albuquerque, Reform Gallery, Los Angeles, among others. She currently divides her time between the San Francisco Bay Area and Chico, CA.
